ENTERTAINER

Dick worked for 19 years as a singer, musician and comedian. His lounge/supper club act, Dick Caldwell & The Celebrities played 40 states, 8 Canadian provinces and throughout Southeast Asia, including a performance before the King and Queen of Thailand. Highlights encompassed appearances with many top performers in the music industry to engagements in Las Vegas, New Orleans, Miami Beach, Atlantic City, London and more than 40 military bases in seven countries. In his travels throughout the world, Dick has been inspired and influenced by those he has met and worked with. His background and experience assure your organization of having a pro who will get the immediate attention of his audience and enrich their lives through the use of anecdotes and humor.

 

TV PERSONALITY

For five years Dick hosted a nationally syndicated weekly television show, in Canada, called Sun Country. He has also appeared on and emceed telethons to raise funds for various charities including Cerebral Palsy, Cystic Fibrosis, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and several childrens' hospitals and burn units. As an expert on motivation and self-improvement, Dick appeared on The Shirley Show for a segment entitled "Is Fear Sabotaging Your Life."

 

AUTHOR

Dick is a contributing author of two books, Positive Power People and Secrets of Sales Champions. His tape albums, "A Is For Attitude" and "Reaching For Rainbows" are popular resources for attendees' continued inspiration and to reinforce learning.

 

BUSINESSMAN

As owner/operator of four successful businesses, Dick has dealt with employees concerns, desires, and challenges. He has also worked on a chicken farm, in a hat factory, as a private secretary, sales person, sales manager and trainer, public relations director and theatrical booking agent. He was also Executive Director of a large Big Brothers agency. He understands volunteers and the not-for-profit sector.

 

VOLUNTEER

Dick is a past national president of a service club, was a Big Brother, taught courses in business for Junior Achievement and served on the boards of directors of three charities.

 

PROFESSIONAL SPEAKER

In 1979 Dick won the World Speaking Competition of Toastmasters International. He worked for 15 years as a full-time humorist and motivational/inspirational speaker. In 1995 he became an ordained metaphysical minister and changed careers. Since moving to Colorado he retired from the ministry and went back to presenting keynote and after diner programs for associations and corporations. Using historical, sports and personal examples, Dick gives new meaning to the phrase "As you believe." His dynamic personality, powerful delivery and strong convictions combine to make the audience part of the sharing experience that takes place. His keynote presentations are inspirational but are non-religious in nature.

 

Originally from Pennsylvania, Dick lived for 19 years in Calgary, Canada. He, his wife, three dogs and a cat, then moved to a desert valley in Southern Nevada, from there to California while he worked on his doctoral degree, then to a mountain acerage in Vermont and recently to a the western slope of Colorado.
