- Through discussion
with you, I will determine what you want to accomplish by
having me participate in your meeting or convention. I
will find out what your objectives and expectations are
as well as learn what your organization does and what
your challenges are.
- I will know the theme
of your meeting and relate my presentation to it. When
appropriate, I will talk to some of your people, in
advance, to better get a feel for the
organization.
- I will notify you
when I arrive so you have one less thing to worry about
prior to the meeting. In case of a serious delay, I will
contact you immediately so you know it is being
handled.
- I will tell you
the truth 100% of the time.
- I will be available
to you before and after my presentation to give or get
advice, have a discussion, or to perform any added-value
assignments to help make your event a
success.
- Whether I travel
First Class or not - I will bill you for economy class
and pro-rate my travel costs whenever possible. I will be
reasonable and considerate in my use of incidental
expenses.
- I will contact the
venue set-up crew shortly after I arrive to verify that
sound, lighting and staging arrangements are set to
maximize audience impact.
- I will be in the
meeting room for a sound check at least one hour before I
speak.
- I will provide an
easy, brief introduction in advance, bring an extra copy
with me, and be available to coach my introducer, if
requested.
- My speech will not
contain any off-color material or language.
- I will interact
constantly with the audience, involving them through the
use of questions, a show of hands, eye contact and any
other participation that might be appropriate. I will
never be rude to any audience member.
- Humor and stories
will be used to reinforce my points.
- Handouts will be
available to audience members - at no expense to
you.
- My tape albums will
only be offered if approved by you in advance. When
products are ordered, I will fill the orders
promptly.
- I will honor my time
frame and make adjustments if needed.
- I am happy to stay
around after my speech to meet your people, answer
questions and hear comments.
- I will itemize my
expenses, provide receipts as needed, and bill you
promptly after my speech.
In short - I will do
everything I can to make our relationship enjoyable, to
deliver an entertaining and meaningful message, and to make
you look good.
